President Obama's Inaugural Poet, Elizabeth Alexander, Graces The Ebony Show!!!

I have a special place in my heart for poetry, and the magnanimous thinkers who have the profound ability to spit out lyrical couture. . . But more importantly, I am a fan of POWERFUL people. Powerful women, especially, who bring architecture to life through the very essence of their 'language': Take Professor Elizabeth Alexander, Yale Professor of African American studies, for example: This ingenious woman has published five books of poems, was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, and was personally chosen by President Obama,to compose and recite a poem in commemoration of his inauguration. . . Now that's fire!

I took a visit to Yale today, and had the opportunity to sit down and interview this fabulous woman who President Obama calls 'friend.' Professor Alexander relieved in her experience at the inauguration, and reminisced of her 'Praise Song For the Day.' She also revealed who Barack Obama is to her, and as she candidly put it, his 'blazin' 100 day-term!'

Professor Elizabeth Alexander's exclusive interview will debut in The Ebony Show Inaugural Special, which will be an intimate video diary of my experiences at President Obama's inauguration, and the relevance of his historic moment on January 20, 2009, for generations of the past, and generations to come. Look out for this special on DVD and on-line--More details to come. . .
