Crucified For Christ

I think it is so disgraceful, and so sad that Miss California, Carrie Prejean, is being crucified for her innocent comment regarding her anti-gay-marriage remarks during this year's Miss USA pageant! I mean, come on! This is America, people have the right to voice their own opinion, especially when their opinion is backed up by God's word. In no way was Carrie derogatory, or insulating when Perez Hilton, of all people, who is openly gay himself, pipped the question: "should all states move toward allowing same sex marriage?"

Carrie politely, and confidently stated: "I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman ... that's how I was raised."

It has been speculated that Carrie's remark cost her her crown. Nevertheless, Carrie remained resolute to her faith, and to her beliefs. What a proud moment! To take a stand in a world that says everything is fine as long as it brings you pleasure, to take a stand in a world where being the outsider means you have to put up a fight-- The battle has begun. The battle, the opposition lies between what's right and what's wrong. None of us can judge, but we can reproach, admonish, and stand up for what is right. What I find so upsetting about this entire situation, is that Perez Hilton and other media outlets are bashing this woman. For what? She did not come off as arrogant or self righteous. If saying 'I don't agree,' is a cause of insult, then my oh my, what is the world coming to?

On the Today show yesterday, Carrie said: "I was ready for my question, and when I heard it from (Perez), I knew at that moment after I'd answered the question, I knew that I was not going to win because of my answer," she said. "Because I had spoken from my heart, for my beliefs and for my God. ... It's not about being politically correct, for me, it's about being biblically correct."

Ahhh. . . Biblically correct, does not mean what we think, it represents what God thinks. So why take up an ought with this woman? All those who oppose (Perez Hilton, this means you,)then go have a talk with God. . . Carrie didn't write the book, she just read it.

It's the God in Me

I absolutely heart Mary Mary's new video, "It's the God in Me." If you look closely, and let the lyrics penetrate, you will realize that all that glitters is temporary-- It's not about how many zeros you can write on a check, it's not about how hard you shine in the midst of the glitz and the glam-- It's all about God, and letting Him be the head of our lives. I remind myself of this daily, and every time I forget, he sends someone to remind me along the way-- it's not about me. It never was. It's all about the God in Me! The God in all of us, and the sooner we all realize and surrender, life will truly begin. Stay fabulous, but above all, stay blessed!!!
