A TRIBUTE FROM THE FAMILY
In Memory of Our Beloved
KELLY RENEE POWELL
By: Eboyne' Jackson
These eyes have seen the beauty and resistance of life.
These hands have touched the pain of the rejected, and prayed them through.
For I walked the earth; a proud martyr of the King--
A console to the desolate. . .
A giver to those in need. . .
I have overcome.
These lips have tasted the bitterness of sorrow,
yet none compare to the blessings my eyes now behold.
My sons rise up, and become men of Judah!
Mother, weep not (if only you could see me now!)
If only you could see how I dance, and hear my song of praise. . .
It's like. . . the stir of the ocean, the power of the wind. . .
the resonance of 10 thousand trumpets that never cease.
Sister, brothers, my heart leaps for joy.
Do not worry about me.
As my last breath falters on earth,
know that my breath quickens in heaven.
My soul trembles with joy,
My heart dances with the Lord.
And my laughter. . .
Oh my laughter! Can you hear it?
It rejoices to the harp and lyre of the Lord.
Have no fear.
For I have abandoned my corruptible shell, and transformed
into my incorruptible armor.
Now my steps do not grow weary, my soul will not perish,
My breath does not grow faint. . .
Here my song has no end.
For I have arrived.
My deepest prayer is that you would meet me
here to share in this splendor with me. . .
If only you could see me now. . .
I am whole. . .
I am loved. . .
I am at peace. . .
I am free. . .
