Interview Exclusives with Miss J. & The Incomparable Tracy Reese (As Featured in Iconography the Magazine)

As many of you may already know, I am an affiliate of Iconography Magazine, the preeminent resource dedicated to inspire, educate, encourage, and guide individuals interested in or directly connected to the fashion industry. I got my start with the magazine in 2008, and began as a fashion writer, and quickly elevated to role of features editor as I landed the magazine's first influential celebrity interviews with fashionista, Keisha Nash Whitaker, (the wife of Forest Whitaker and CEO of Kissable Couture,) and world renown fashion designer, Kenneth "Kas" Flannagan of the Kas Collection. And as the magazine turns 1 year old this month, with its highly anticipated 1 year anniversary issue, (to release this week,) you can expect to see more exclusive celebrity interviews from me. But in the meantime, please check out these exclusives available on the newly launched Iconography Magazine website!
Check out my brief Q&A with America's next top model darling, Miss J.: A Good Attitude and A Good Handbag.
Tracy Reese is a mainstay in the fashion industry, and is one of the only African American designers to debut her collections during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week every year. I am in awe of this visionary, and found it an honor to attend her Spring 2010 show during New York Fashion Week. Check out my exclusive review of her past Spring collection, "All Hail the Queen," and my new review of her Spring 2010 collection which will unveil in the new issue of Iconography the Magazine! Gwen Beloti Debuts Her 'Inspirational' Spring 2010 Collection at Retreat Tonight!

In the world of fashion label, Gwen Beloti, fashion meets social action. I became an admirer of Gwen Beloti when I viewed her "Fade to Black Collection" which debuted last Spring. I also support this emerging designer because as Gwen puts it, 'Gwen Beloti is built on the theory that today's woman aspires to be classic but trendy. To be edgy yet tasteful and distinctive while still collective. This line is designed to do but one thing and that is to flatter and compliment. Gwen Beloti designs bring you incessant intros of novelty.'

Now, Gwen is back, ready to unveil her new Spring 2010 collection at "Retreat," tonight, one of Manhattan's most lavish and upscale lounges. Be on the look out for this inspirational fashion designer, and keep D.A.M. MAGAZINE on your radar, as we will be in the building tonight, bringing you the hottest couture straight off the runway, sitting in V.I.P with Gwen Beloti!

World Premier: Beyonce and Lada Gaga's "Video Phone" Remix Music Video

Beyonce and Lady Gaga's "Video Phone" Remix music video is finally here, and it's definitely colorful and electric. In the vid, Beyonce sports a ton of lavish outfits, while Gaga, who is known as one of the most over the top fashionistas, only dons a simple white leotard in the entire video. Bey parades around in at least 9 different outfit changes, and got to play in various action scenes, while Gaga got one outfit change, and the green screen. (Sigh) Oh well. . . After all, it's Bey's music video, and no one must take away her shine, Right? So from a fashion stand point, I was a little disappointed, but artistically it appeases. I am waiting for the day when more women in the entertainment industry will empower through the mind and images of substance, rather than wearing barely clad clothing and "dropping it like it's hot." So sad. Check out the video below.

Dream Come True (# 1) And Yes, I'm Still Dreamin! Interview Exclusive with COKO!

If you remember the smooth vibrations of SWV, such as "Weak" and "Right Here/Human Nature," then you remember the "Sister with the Voice," Cleryl "Coko" Clemmons, the lead singer of SWV. As a young girl growing up, I always tried to imitate Coko's high pitch Soprano falsetto in "Rain," whether I was in the mirror singing with the brush, or singing to a live audience of "teddy bears," for that split second, I was Coko! I was her number one fan, (and still am,) and I admired her soulful vocal ability and swag. So it was a dream come true to actually have the opportunity to interview the songstress that I'd aspired to become as a little girl. As many of Coko's fans already know, the diva has moved away from recording secular music, to focusing on her music ministry within the Gospel industry. Her first gospel album, "Grateful," skyrocketed on the Billboard's chart, and since then Coko continues to be received with open arms, (by both the secular and gospel industries,) making it most evident that she has God's favor.

But I won't give it all away! I will save some suspense for when the actual interview drops! Coko and I discussed her latest album, "The Winner in Me," love and marriage, and the real reason behind the disbandment of SWV, and so much more! Look out for my interview exclusive with COKO, as it will appear exclusively in Higher Rock Music Magazine.

Check Out My Girl, COKO, performing "Endow Me" alongside Fantasia, Lil' Mo, and Kiki Sheard. Love this performance, makes me wanna shout!
